a made up sound bringing house for the emotionally unstable on 003. drunkenly swaggering along, the punchy discofied-bass-clap-whatever ‘alarm’ is owned by a pair of synth stabs that got out of bed with the wrong foot first. after an almost clowny breakdown, moody pads soon make clear this track ain’t funny at all... ‘crisis’ on the b-side is all about restraint. thick house-not-house beats and a thumping acid bassline move on and on while a vacuum cleaner blues and hazy will-o-the-wisp-like strings slowly creep under the skin. those who like it nice and shiny better think twice... killer twelve!

deep down from the heart of motorcity stuttgart comes a fresh new label from the founder of the well known techno imprints neue heimat & mutter rec. - daniel benavente and oliver hauf - coworker of the vinyl store humpty records stuttgart. the born baby is called salon rosi - conform with the events were celebrating in club rocker33 since years. the first release is starting off with newcomer konstantin sibold who brings us his neuland e.p. - containing two slices of pure technosoul with very different characters. the a-side >apart< is a mixture of traditional detroit techno combined with modern tech-house rhythms which builts and builts, ending in an climax of pure euphorism. b-side >gestade< is a well funky and deep explosion with a subtle throbbing acid-bassline vibe, well-flavoured with pieces of bitter sweet harmonies.

midnight marauder, is rolling techno fuzzing with a teetering bass line, reggae sirens and jamaican patois adlibs. typical of the two involved, its decidedly grey area - impossible to categorise if you tried. one thing about this track is certain though – its primed for peak time on the dancefloor, with swung drum rhythms and a snaking acid line that wont quit.

boy we couldnt resist hooking up with one of the youngest and brightest proteges in the west-coast undergound to slap out some crazy remixes of the bsu ep for yall. who is he? why, a made up sound ofcourse, or 2562 for short. steamrolling his way onto the scene in 2007, 2562 has been a mainstay from the get go, with amazing production skills and a keen ear for what rocks the house. in a very short time the 2562 name became almost synonimous for dubstep. but luckily for us theres the made up sound guise to provide us with a more mutant hybrid of slamming jak-step (and remember where you read that first). so take your pick, heres one for the heads and one for the bodies.

dancin: previously released on the digital only >jack pulse ep< (synapsis002), dancin is built on a melody line that constantly filters together with sparse sounds and vocals that say, dancin. what an acid banger, seriously you will start dancin.
binary: a video game synth is abundant in this track, mauser turns this sounds into a jacking melody. i m appreciating this chicago techno story. bounce, bounce, bounce.
regenerate: says, >time for the techno beatdown<. mauser shows us his love for techno as regenerate moves and bangs.

thirtyonetwenty is the international dialling code to reach amsterdam. its also the name of amsterdams hot label run by sandy huner, who co-founded techno imprint 100% pure in 1992.
for the 13th release on thirtyonetwenty we welcome gabriele baldi, a young, talented italian whose recent release on label bitten got heavy play from top djs such as oxia, ricardo villalobos and 2000 and one, causing havoc on the dancefloors.
gabrieles passion for music began at a very early age, from piano to rock, blues to soul, funk to 80s … his evolving eclectic musical background provides him with the foundations for his productions now – heavily influenced with deep, house and acid-funk sounds.
this time he is back with two grooving funky (tech) housetracks >all i want< and >crash love<. amsterdams own tom ruijg (bangbang!) finishes it off with a deeper house-take of >all want<.

producer toby leeming is making quite a name for himself. after a year of sowing the seeds on the underground, this london-based artist makes his first high profile release on arts newly formed dance division series. >messier 66< contains all the classic elements of pure dancefloor techno. driving ur style beats merge with basic channel chord delays - all underpinned by a menacing acid line. techno doesnt get any more sci-fi than the alien soundscapes of >anadine< - its classic detroit-inspired string stabs and abstract vocal washes are highlights of a frantic, scattering track that will keep the feet busy on the dancefloor. >paucity< ends this no-filler ep with its majestic, sweeping pads and uplifting melodies. the beats are still tough and relentless - making a perfect finale to the second release on arts dance division series.

some ideas are just so good, they deserve a second chapter. like christian prommers drumlesson vol. 1 album, released in 2008, which featured instrumental jazz versions of legendary techno and electronic tracks including derrick mays strings of life, kraftwerks trans europe express and josh winks higher state of consciousness. critics and audiences were united in their positive reactions to the album.
jazz meets house, electronic meets organic, drumlesson zwei is a testament to musics limitless potential for inspiration and reinvention. drumlesson zwei is not about narrow labels, fads or genres. great music lasts forever.

a welcome return for jaime read who has been releasing quality deep house and techno since the mid 90s via his own push ii shove label, tenth planet, fragmented and ugly music. here he drops a timeless ep of house and techno rythims to great effect. messages from outer space is a deep slice of timeless 808 driven electro soul. name no names moves along with spaced out keys and a sax line reverbed to great effect. no relief has that old school chicago house sound with piano stabs and a lush string breakdown. digital acid wraps it up sounding much like the title suggests with deep 808 bass and floor smashing snares

the latest addition to the miasmah roster is oslo based musician fns aka fredrik ness sevendal. a veteran of the oslo experimental scene, sevendal has been associated with several bands over the years: del, slowburn and kobi. additionally his previous work has involved collaborations with makoto kawabata (acid mothers temple), mitsuru tabata (zeni geva, marble sheep), mark francombe (ex-cranes guitarist), and bill wood (1/3 octave band).

galens original mix is a stellar funky techie house thumper with some nice james bond influenced horn stabs and bouncy melodies that inter-play skillfully with the subbie bass line. of the two remixes on the b-side claude vonstroke steps up first with his cant miss minimal funky dirtybird style. rob mello closes out with a sultry, techie acid house flavored journey featuring long modulationsweeps perched on a chunky bass line.
